Cedarburg’s Annual Winter Festival
February 16-17, 2013, 10 am-5 pm
A cure for cabin fever! This free, family-oriented indoor & outdoor festival, founded in 1973 in Historic Cedarburg, brings thousands of people for the ice carving contest, chili contest and the rollicking Costumed Bed Races & Barrel Races on Ice. Enjoy open skating on Cedar Creek, pancake breakfast, hayrides, Winter Festival Parade and lots of family fun activities. The annual Iceburg Open Golf Tournament with yellow tennis balls in the snow, the Dog Weight-Pull Contest and the Cool Brew Beer Tasting Evening with entertainment round out this festival.
Cedarburg’s Annual Strawberry Festival
4th Weekend of June, 10 am—6 pm
A perfect way to enjoy a summer weekend. This free, family-oriented festival takes over downtown Historic Cedarburg and is known as a delicious strawberry-eating and arts weekend event. 250 booths selling everything from photography and original art to crafts and specialty food items make up Arts on the Avenue. The festival features a regionally known Plein Air Painting Competition, plus strawberry wine, strawberry desserts, fresh strawberries and food courts with delightful menu items all over town. Live bands, hayrides and the Berry Big 5K Run/Walk round out the weekend. Contests include the CedarQuacker 500 (rubber ducks floating down Cedar Creek), Strawberry Shortcake Eating and Bubblegum Blowing. Families will love Henry’s Kids Korner Activities in shady Cedar Creek Park. Don’t miss Wisconsin Museum of Quilts & Fiber Arts events on their 1850’s farmstead. More than 100,000 attend this weekend event.
Cedarburg’s Annual Wine & Harvest Festival
3rd Weekend of September, 10 am – 6 pm
The hint of fall and falling leaves bring people out for this free, family-oriented festival throughout the streets of charming, downtown Historic Cedarburg. Home grown produce from the Farmer’s Market and Cedar Creek Winery Wines made this festival famous. Enjoy Arts on the Avenue, a whimsical scarecrow contest and Scarecrow Sculpture Garden plus pumpkin carving and the hilarious Grape Stomp. The newest contest is the Pumpkin Regatta on Cedar Creek featuring 500 lb hollowed out, decorated pumpkins with intrepid paddler nestled inside racing across Cedar Creek. Delicious menu items are at the food courts, live bands play throughout town and there are hayrides and Henry’s Kids Korner Activities. Visit the Wisconsin Museum of Quilts & Fiber Arts events. Over 60,000 weekend attendance.
2nd Weekend of October, 11 am - 9 pm
Our newest festival is free and located within a huge tent in Cedar Creek Park. You will hear authentic German music all day long and enjoy dancers in native costume plus fabulous German foods, beers and wine all weekend. There are live daily Glockenspiel (cuckoo clock) shows, a Sheepshead tournement, Beer Bucket Races, a Wife Carrying Contest and Outhouse Races (four pushers and one sitter). Kids games and activities and a German marketplace are also on the grounds.
